Trócaire works in partnership with local and church organisations, supporting communities in over 20 developing countries across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East to bring about lasting change. The Myanmar Country Office in Yangon takes overall responsibility for the implementation of the Myanmar country programme, which currently focuses on humanitarian response, rights to land and resources, women’s empowerment, gender-based violence and peace amp; development. The programme supports 23 local partner organisations. Due to the strong geographic focus of Trócaire’s work in Kachin and Northern Shan States, Trócaire has a field office in Myitkyina, Kachin State.
The Country Office currently has successfully secured multiple funding streams from bilateral and multilateral donors in Myanmar, along with others from Trócaire’s HQ in Maynooth, Ireland. These provide significant resourcing for the programme. Approximately 70% of this funding is in the humanitarian sector, and has enabled Trócaire to be one of the leading humanitarian actors in the locations in which it operates in Myanmar.
Reporting to the Head of Partnerships and Strategy, this is a Fixed Term Contract of 2 years and is based in Yangon Myanmar (with travel to programme locations) Remotely for the initial period. This role will sit in the Partnerships and Strategy team, alongside MEAL and Partner Capacity Strengthening units, and will manage one staff member, a Business Development Coordinator.

In particular this role will involve the following components:
Programme Growth amp; Development (45%)
Lead the review and implementation of Trócaire’s country institutional funding strategy, in line with Trócaire’s 2021-25 Organisational Strategy, country programme needs and institutional funding landscape and opportunities.
Develop and solidify constructive working relationships with existing and new donors.
Proactively identify opportunities for securing institutional funding from in-country and external donors, in close liaison with colleagues in the Global Partnerships and Funding Unit in Trócaire’s HQ.
Provide analysis and advice to programme staff on donor funding streams and specific donor funding calls to help contribute to informed decision-making
Coordinate the Go/No-Go process for in-country decision-making on new funding opportunities
In response to new funding calls, provide surge support to programme teams in the process of planning new projects, supporting the initial design and workshop facilitation, and supporting the formulation of objectives and plans.
